NEWS...

  • Covers artist Dave Koz announces his 22ndnd CD! Dave Koz, after an inspiring first half of his career in the “Smooth Jazz” genre, broke into the mainstream 20 years ago with his first cover CD.  His covers of 80s hits captured the world’s imagination; who knew?  That first CD was originally titled The White Album named for his covers mentor, Peter White. After that success, a long string of former smooth jazz performers joined the “cruise.”  This created the new Covers format which transformed the musical landscape.

At sixty two, Koz has decided to do a cover of the best covers he has done on his last few CDs.  The eagerly awaited new project entitled Duvet III will consist of his personal favorite show tunes.

  • Peter White released his first CD on his new label! Peter White has a new production company. Vu Jàdé Records will concentrate on the music of the children of former smooth jazz artists.  White’s daughter Helen will be senior producer.  The talented children of such luminaries as Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, Mindi Abair, David Benoit and others will perform covers of their parents’ hits.

  • Up-and-coming Chinese saxman Sanborn Chang will release his first album entitled A Look Back, December 2, 2025. Chang says, “I wanted to pay tribute to all the great artists of the early 2000s who have been such an influence in my life.” The album will cover songs by legendary artists Brian Culbertson, Rick Braun, and saxman Steve Cole, among others.  Joining Chang on his debut album is none other than Mars Colony 3 resident, Brian Culberston, himself.
