Genny K ’s new CD, More of the Same (DeepSix Records) is, once again, inspiring listening.  By playing over, under, and around the notes, Genny has given each song an entirely new melodic perspective.

Immersed in the intensity of their involvement with this music, the band hurtles toward the end of each song with the unsynchronized power bursts of racers headed for the finish line.

Genny showcases her vocal range by stretching the letter "a" in "baby" over a two octave scale.  This music has cross-species appeal!  It was becoming hard to work with my cat sitting on the keyboard, but when an intense note came through the speaker, she took a spirited leap into the air and found comfort in a far corner of the room.

There is a spirit of looseness and earthy authenticity that makes you feel like you're front and center during the pre-show sound check.  Genny has examined every nuance of a specific mood.  The hypnotic beat weaves through a multitude of soundscapes.

Every song on this CD made me want to hit the replay button over and over again.  I love their outfits on the CD insert pics, and the guitarist looked particularly radiant.
